Here are some Skeletons in the Closet FAQs – we hope these help you.
How far back can you trace my ancestors?
Research will depend upon the availability of records. Some records go back to the 1500s but most research goes back to the early 1800s or late 1700s.
What do I need to give you to start the research?
We will need some basic information to get us started researching your family tree. For instance, the names of your grandparents and their date of birth or approximate age, as well as where they were born, is very helpful information to help us get started. Other information such as approximate dates and places of marriage or death are helpful.
Do I get the certificates that you find when researching?
Some packages include certificates. For certificates that are not included, we will charge a nominal fee.
What's a GED File?
GEDCOM or GED stands for Genealogical Data Communication.
A GEDCOM file is plain text (usually either UTF-8 or ASCII) containing genealogical information about individuals, and metadata linking these records together. Most genealogy software supports importing from and exporting to GEDCOM format.
